Queens College: "Majors Reimagined"

Bio: What if a Psychology major didn’t have to become a psychologist after graduation? What if they could publish a novel, create racial equity programs, and help business leaders design inclusive workplaces? First-year students will learn about the nuances of college, careers, & life. By the end of this workshop, participants will learn how to approach decisions in college and life with less attachment to a fixed outcome.

Testimonial
: “I appreciate how you style your workshops to be engaging and visual (I had a few students comment on that aspect of your workshops both last spring and yesterday afternoon). I know that the students appreciated hearing more about your background and how your academic choices & internship/job opportunities helped to pave the way to where you are now. Seeing how it all connects, even if at the time they think what they are doing doesn’t matter or won’t have an impact on their future, is exactly what they need to see and you helped to bridge that gap with those students yesterday.” - Kristin Berkey, Assistant Director, Office of Student Development & Leadership

UPenn: “Let’s Get Real about Resilience and the Black Student Experience”

Testimonial: “Exceptional & Thought Provoking is how I describe Shola Gbemi. He worked with us to provide a book talk workshop around his novel "They Were Chosen". Shola's workshop allowed undergraduate students to interrogate personal experiences and how they shape their purpose. Since we started working with Shola, he has positively impacted our community by providing guidance and mentorship to all students. If you're looking for an engaging facilitator who can create transformative workshops for your students, I recommend working with Shola Gbemi. He provides a beautiful open space for all to participate authentically.” - Kay Lloyd, House Director of the W.E.B. Du Bois College House at the University of Pennsylvania
